"Hormok" Takes Top Spot as Cambodia's National Dish at Thai Culinary Competition

PHNOM PENH, September 13, 2024 — Cambodia's traditional dish "Hormok" claimed first place as the national representative cuisine at the Thailand World Junior Chef Battle 2024. The event, held from August 28-31, showcased 16 teams from 13 countries. Mr. Chhun Bunchhou, representing Cambodia's young chefs, expressed pride in showcasing Khmer cuisine on the international stage.

"Hormok," also known as "Amok," is a signature Cambodian dish made from steamed fish, coconut milk, and spices in banana leaf baskets, and is a national culinary favorite.
